Prison Ministry Volunteer Training Program

PFC-University is our comprehensive volunteer training program.  It is held twice each year; once in the Spring and once in the Fall.

Some of the courses offered at PFC-U are also offered here on our Web site. All new volunteers who desire to serve behind bars with PFC are required to take our Code of Conduct Course prior to starting their ministry with us. Within the first six months of service, all new PFC volunteers are required to take our Basic Training Course (either Adult or Juvenile) which are only offered at PFC-U, so it’s important that all new volunteers make every effort to attend.

PFC-U is open to the public free of charge. You do not need to be a PFC volunteer in order to attend our classes. We provide Starbucks coffee with a continental breakfast and an afternoon snack. We also arrange for lunch to be delivered. The lunch can be ordered with registration (paid for by each participant who orders). We have morning classes, afternoon classes, and “Lunch & Learn” classes. Because the “Lunch & Learn” classes are held from 12:00 – 1:00pm, we recommend that you either purchase one of our catered lunches or plan to bring your own.

All PFC volunteers will receive a registration brochure in the mail a month in advance.  If you are not a PFC volunteer and would like to receive a registration brochure for the next PFC-University, please send us an email.

Some of our courses are also available for free online here.
